SKI PHASE 1 (KIE & ROB) information, SKI Sewer 21-01 STEP and SKI Sewer 22-02 Community Mains Update May & June 2023

Queen Anne’s County Sanitary District will be performing routine sewer tank maintenance on your STEP System.

Phase 1 – Kent Island Estates and Romancoke on the Bay.

• An easement is in place that allows the county access to perform maintenance and repairs of the STEP

system.  County sanitary utility workers will be inspecting your tank at least every 5 years

and will be pumping out the solids as needed.

• The County will always attempt to notify property owners before conducting any work on their property;
• Notification will be a dated doorhanger informing homeowners that tank maintenance will begin within a week
• during normal business hours.  When the sanitary crew arrives there will be a courteous knock on the door.

• There will be NO interruptions to your system.
• You are not required to be home.

21-01 STEP

SKI Sewer Project Phase 2, Tower Gardens-  Progress for the months of May and June 2023:  The contractor installed 21 STEP tanks and connected 21 homes to public sewer.  Those installs and connections completed South Lake Dr and Court, with startup beginning on Tower Dr. and King George Ct.   Only 4 remaining properties require Electric Meter work.   Yard Restoration (backfilling settled areas and seeding) will be ongoing and continue throughout the end of phase 2, be mindful that re-seeding will take place in September. 

Moving forward, the contractor plans to finish up sewer services on Tower Dr, King George Ct. and Kent Point Rd. next month before returning to a few other properties in the  Tower Gardens community to complete phase 2 public sewer.

• County Staff has performed a total of 200 Pre-construction meetings and acquired 200 easements.
• The contractor has installed 145 STEP tanks as of June 30^th, 2023
• The contractor has connected 145 houses to the public sewer system as of June 30^th, 2023.
• Total Phase 2 homes connected to public sewer 178 as of June 30, 2023.

22-02 Community Mains (341 Existing Homes)

SKI Sewer Project Phase 3, Kentmorr and Queen Anne Colony Progress for the months of May and June 2023: 

The contractor has installed 141 sewer curb stop valves and tied in 3,499. LF of SDR7 pressure service tubing. 

Kentmorr subdivision community mains will soon be completed when the air release valves are installed.  Public sewer community main operations have moved forward to Queen Anne Colony subdivision.   

• As of June 30^th, 2023 the county has collected 333 Right-of-Entry Forms and acquired 163 Easements.
• To date the county has 334 site plans on file for phase 3.
