SKI Project Update 10.31.20

For the month of October 2020, the contractor completed 33 house connections to the Southern Kent Island public sewer system; those locations were Elm Street, Bay Drive, Talbot, Worcester, Caroline, Somerset and Utah Roads.  Eleven STEP tanks were installed on Bay Drive, Caroline, Somerset and Talbot Roads.  Ten electric meter replacements / modifications were installed for the month.  Southern Kent Island recorded 7.0” of rainfall for the month of October.  The contractor continues with daily yard stabilization and completing yard restoration.  During the Winter months, the contractor plans to continue utility operations on Utah, St. Mary’s, Caroline, Worcester, Baltimore, Wicomico, Kent, Virginia, Roads. Locations are subject to change.  SKI sewer work street signs will be updated and posted.   County staff has performed 739 pre-construction meetings and acquired 765 easements to date.

• The contractor has installed 678 STEP tanks to date, 97 remaining.
• The contractor has connected 518 houses to the public sewer system to date, 257 remaining.

SKI 20-02 Community Mains

Public Sewer Operations in Tower Gardens; For the month of October 2020; Community Main installation; Kent Point and Calvert Road, Oxbow Drive, North Lake Drive, South Lake Court, North Lake Drive and Tie-ins on Drovers and Tower Drive.

2” HDPE 1,046LF.  3” HDPE 1,762LF.  4” HDPE 675LF.  6” HDPE 730LF.  Contractor has been working on pressure and leak testing the community mainline.
