SKI Project Update 4.30.21
For the months of March and April 2021, the contractor completed 63 house connections to the Southern Kent Island public sewer system along with septic tank abandonments.
Nineteen tanks were installed. The contractor continues with daily yard stabilization and restoration. Late spring into early summer the contractor will be completing public sewer connections on Penny Lane, Pennick Drive, Olive Branch, Bay Drive, Carroll, Cecil, North Lake, Romancoke, Virginia and Utah Roads among a few others, restoration will continue.
Street signs will be updated and posted accordingly. The contractor plans to finalize and complete 16-01 SKI STEP sewer connections for the phase I project by July 1st, 2021.
- The contractor has installed 735 STEP tanks to date, 40 remaining.
- The contractor has connected 688 houses to the public sewer system to date, 87 remaining.
- The contractor has completed 754 Electric meter replacements/ modifications, 21 remaining.
SKI 20-02 Tower Gardens Community Mains
The contractor has completed all phase 2 Community Sewer Main pipe installation; to include the installation of division valves, clean-outs, air release valves and curb stops to 200 existing homes and 25 vacant lots, connected to the transmission main and pressure tested the main. Restoration is on-going to all disturbed areas.
SKI 20-01 Tower Gardens STEP
The contractor is starting to mobilize. Pre-construction meetings have been scheduled and conducted. Electric meter work has begun. The contractor plans to set the first STEP tank for phase 2 in May 2021.
- County staff has performed 37 pre- construction meetings and acquired 173 easements to date.
